"Saving Claudia" - that title is rather dramatic. But how true is it? To Claudia, the ability to have the funds to pay for her treatments literally means gifting her with her life.
How all this came to be, why it all came to be, when it will all truly end - we'll never know. But for now our situation is this: she has chronic Lyme disease. It's symptoms began revealing itself a little over five years ago. However, symptoms of it began manifesting itself when she was only twelve.
It's been quite the journey - seeing her slip from her determined, creative, fun-loving self to someone who struggles from day to day, from spending a couple of years figuring out what on earth was going on to spending thousands and thousands of dollars on all kinds of doctors and specialists that claimed they could help her.
Finally, through the tender mercies of our Heavenly Father we were led to the West Clinic in Pocatello, Idaho - a clinic renowned for treating Lyme patients from all over the country. We've been receiving treatments from them for a few months now and finally seen some miraculous progress.
We'd estimate that she's about half way there to full recovery. But treatments are expensive and we've exhausted our financial supply to make sure these treatments continue taking place.
Our situation is this: we believe in doing everything we can to help ourselves and sustain ourselves but there are times when, after a family has done all they can, it's time to ask for some outside help ... which is why we felt the need to create this blog.
We humbly ask financial help from any who may come across this blog - so that we can have the means to get the true Claudia back. The energetic, fun, spiritual, determined; mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend.
Her story will be told, in the following posts, through posts of her own making taken from a personal blog of hers...
